Mego and her 4 wee ones visited me last weekend. We had so much fun playing Legos, using our imaginations to become pirates, visiting the zoo, and doing lots of climbing at the parks. My favorite comment of the weekend was when we left the park Sunday to head back to my house for lunch and Meg told them after lunch it was time to get in the car to go home - Quinn said "Mommy, instead of 2 days and 2 nights at Aunt Kelly's I think we should stay for 5 days and 5 nights." It's National Grilled Cheese Day. So what does one eat after a run on such a day? A grilled cheese and a chocolate banana smoothie, of course! Yum!

My parents visited me in Madison this weekend. While I was at work on Friday, they tackled a project at my house for me. A few weeks ago I decided a better way to utilize the closet right outside my kitchen would be to remove the coats and hanging rack and add several shelves. So Friday my handy parents did just that ... and here are the results! I now have a place for small appliances I don't use very often, extra paper products, serving trays, shopping bags, and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff. And the best news is, I can now get at things I use every week (like measuring cups and cookie sheets) without having to move a bunch of other stuff out of the way. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

So he did. The Guy Clark song "The Cape" routinely gets stuck in my head. The yarn from the previous post turned into hats for Jake! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grey one - it's super stretchy. That may become my new go-to pattern for baby and toddler hats. These guys are en route to Iowa.
